Resolving Immigration Problems In An Honest & Responsible Manner

California immigration reform: The battle continues

The immigration battle continues in the House of Representatives on approving a bill that would create more citizenship of the United States. President Obama and his democratic party have sought to help millions of illegal immigrants become citizens in our country through immigration reform. The bill has yet to be approved, and those who oppose it believe that it could actually work against the current citizens, instead of having an added benefit. However, a California republican with the House of Representatives has sided with the bill.

There are approximately 12 million illegal immigrants who reside in the United States. The representative had his own personal experience with the issue when he witnessed his father-in-law struggle with the immigration system. He is fully supporting immigration reform and believes that it can strengthen the economy. However, many republicans are not in favor of the bill and believe that it would provide fewer jobs for existing citizens.

Many republicans also believe that immigrants who broke the law would receive undeserved government forgiveness. Other republicans feel that this is just a political stunt for the representative to be re-elected. However, the representative refuted the opposing republicans' claims and stated that immigration reform would actually generate additional working taxpayers and offer significant improvements to the economy.

Approving the bill for immigration reform could help give many illegal immigrants currently residing in the country a greater chance at becoming citizens. This is also beneficial to those who depend on those immigrants for support. Allowing more people to become citizens could also stimulate the economy in California and throughout the United States.
