Immigration agencies sued over DACA renewal failure

A young woman in another state has filed legal claims against United States immigration agencies over a denied DACA renewal request. She claims that her petition was denied due to her work as an immigration activist, both in her local area and across the country. This is certainly something other individuals in California and elsewhere may have to deal with if they are arrested for their roles as immigration activists.

Who can receive an adjustment of status and how?

Many individuals who currently hold visas allowing them to reside in California and elsewhere in the United States, but who lack permanent resident status, may want to pursue status changes that would allow them to remain in the country after their visas expire. Representation for detainees is available

Thousands of immigrants continue to cross the border into the United States or even choose to stay well beyond when their visas expire. These individuals are often detained in detention centers in California or elsewhere until their cases can be heard by immigration judges. Few may realize, though, that representation for detainees from an experienced immigration attorney is available to assist them with their cases.

How is asylum eligibility determined?

Numerous individuals try to enter the country every year seeking protection or relief from what they deem to be dangerous situations. However, those who believe that they can simply cross the border into the United States and be granted asylum upon request may need a little help in actually making the request become a reality. For asylum seekers currently residing in California, an immigration attorney may be able to help.
