Resolving Immigration Problems In An Honest & Responsible Manner

Govt. employment visa eligibility website now in Spanish

Those who want to work in the United States and are unsure of their eligibility to work are able to check their employment visa online through a free online service called Self Check. But now, the website that is also available in Spanish. The website has also expanded to include 16 additional states, including California.

This site used to only be available to employers, but now workers can log on to the website to see if they are eligible before they apply for a position in the United States. The person applying has to be 16 years old or older.

The worker will have to enter the same information that an employer would enter in order to confirm eligibility for work. It allows the users to compare information in the databases that are accessed through E-verify. It gives the worker an opportunity to take care of any of the mismatches in existing data before they're hired by an employer that participates in E-verify.

According to the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services website, "Since the launch of Self Check in March 2011, more than 18,000 individuals in Arizona, Colorado, Idaho, Mississippi, Virginia, and the District of Columbia have used it to verify their employment authorization status."

With the new added features to the website, employers and workers will have greater ease in determining their eligibility to work in the United States. The road to obtaining a work visa for America can be long, but new features like this can make the process a bit smoother.
