People who want to come to the United States need to have a valid reason to do so. One of these is for employment reasons. There are several different employment visas that immigrants can obtain. One of these is the EB-5 visa, which is for immigrant investors who want to come to the U.S. for business purposes. There are very strict requirements that must be met for individuals who want to take advantage of this type of employment-based Green Card.

The EB-5 visa is meant for individuals who have already invested $1,050,000 or are actively doing so in a business that will benefit the U.S. Some investors can invest less, than $800,000 if they’re building the business in a targeted infrastructure project or employment area. The investment must create at least 10 full-time jobs in order to qualify an immigrant for this type of visa.

Certain family members are also eligible for visas

Unmarried children who are under 21 years old and the spouse of the EB-5 applicant can also apply to come to the U.S. They need to do this as an immigrant investor derivative applicant. These individuals must meet all necessary requirements for entry into the U.S., including filling out an application and submitting supporting documentation.

Immigrants who are already in the U.S. can apply for this type of visa through an adjustment of status application. These applications can be complex, so it’s often best for applicants to work with someone familiar with the process. This can help take the stress off them and increase the chance that they will have everything in order for efficient processing of the visa application.
